Can anyone other than the applicant drive the rental car?

Can a beginner (one who has had a driver's license for less than a year) rent a car?

Yes, you can. We do not care about the driver's driving experience. We have a comprehensive compensation system so that even inexperienced drivers can rent a car with peace of mind. Even those who are not confident in their driving can use our rental car service with peace of mind.

Can elderly people rent a car?

We cannot lend cars to anyone over 65 years old.

Can the person making the reservation and the person renting the car be different?

Reservations can also be made by people other than the user. However, please confirm with the driver in advance before making a reservation.

How many days in advance can I make a reservation?

Reservations can be made up to six months in advance. However, if you are in a hurry, we can accommodate you if you make the reservation up to 30 minutes before your intended use.*

*Some stores do not accept reservations more than 30 minutes in advance.

*If you wish to depart within 30 minutes of opening on the day, please make your reservation at least 30 minutes before closing time the previous day.

Can I rent a car without making a reservation?

If there is availability on the day, you can rent it immediately. However, we recommend that you make a reservation in advance, as we may be fully booked and unable to rent it on the day.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes, you can. If you need to cancel your reservation, please contact us as soon as possible. When canceling or changing your reservation, please have the "reservation number" obtained when you made the reservation and the "email address you entered when making the reservation" ready.

May I change my reservation?

When making changes to your reservation, please prepare in advance the "reservation number" obtained when you made the reservation and the "email address entered when making the reservation."

If I cancel my reservation, do I have to pay a cancellation fee?

If you cancel your reservation for personal reasons, we will charge you a cancellation fee as specified by our company.

If you cancel your reservation 7 days or more before the reservation, there will be no cancellation fee. If you cancel your reservation 6 days or less before the scheduled boarding date, a cancellation fee will be charged.

How long can I rent a car for?

The rental period is up to one month.

Can I specify whether I want an automatic or manual car?

It is not possible to specify. We only sell automatic transmission vehicles.

Can I choose a non-smoking car?

All rental cars at Gyōkyō Rental Car are non-smoking.

What if I can't make my appointment?

If you cannot make it to your reserved time on the day, please contact the store. If we do not hear from you within one hour of the scheduled departure time, we will assume that your reservation has been canceled and you may not be able to use the reserved vehicle.

What should I do if my rental car is damaged while I'm using it?

In the unlikely event that your vehicle needs repair due to an accident or dirt, regardless of the extent of the damage or the time required for repair, we will charge you a Loss of Business Charge (NOC), including the cost of the vehicle being brought to the workshop for repairs and loss of business during that period.

What should I do if an accident occurs?

If an accident occurs, please follow the steps below:

Move the vehicle to a safe location to avoid further accidents.
Please help rescue the injured.
Report the accident to the police.
Please check the other person's situation.
Please call us.
Do not settle on the spot. If you do, your insurance will no longer apply and you will have to pay the full amount.

What should I do if I park illegally?

If you receive a parking violation ticket, you must go to the local police station to complete the necessary procedures and pay the fine before returning.

When returning the vehicle, please present the "Traffic Violation Notice" and the "Payment Slip/Receipt" showing the payment date.

If you do not present the "Traffic Violation Notice" or "Delivery Note/Receipt Certificate" when returning the vehicle, you will be required to pay a parking violation fee of 30,000 yen.

* After paying the fine at a later date and presenting the "traffic law violation notice" and the "payment slip/receipt" showing the payment date to the return shop, the remaining balance will be returned. The refund will be deposited into the designated account. (The bank transfer fee will be borne by the customer.)

*If we receive an order to pay a parking violation fee, or if the customer fails to pay the required fee in full by the due date specified by our company, we will report it to the Rental Car Association, and rental car companies that are members of the association may stop providing rental car services to that customer in the future.

Are there any mileage restrictions for rental cars?

There is no limit on mileage.

Can I bring pets into the rental car?

If you wish to bring a pet, please call us in advance to apply. When making a reservation, please be sure to tell us that you will be bringing a pet. In addition, if you do not apply in advance, we will be unable to lend you a pet even if you have made a reservation, so please be sure to apply in advance.
